# UXPin > UXPin is a design and prototyping platform whose canvas renders real React components from your production design system — not vector approximations. It adds AI as a capability within that platform, not the other way around: teams sync a real component library (Merge), generate and refine UI with AI using those exact components (Forge), and turn designs into working, shippable products with production React code (Wire). Design, AI generation, and code output all work from one source of truth — the customer's actual component library. UXPin is a design tool with AI, not an AI tool that happens to design. The distinction matters: the design platform is the substance, and AI is one capability within it. Unlike vector-based design tools, the canvas renders production React components with real props, variants, and states, so what designers work with is what developers ship. Unlike prompt-to-app tools that generate from scratch using their own conventions, UXPin works from the customer's existing component library.
